Cavern Lurker Dragons are nocturnal ambush predators. Although small, they are very aggressive and will attack anything weak enough to be overpowered. Their preferred method of hunting is to lie in wait in a cave, burrow, or other small, enclosed space; when any potential prey passes they will lunge out to grab hold of the unsuspecting victim and drag it back into the lair. Cavern Lurkers have an odd aversion to sunlight and almost never venture out during the day. More commonly sighted are the odd piles of bones they stack near the entrance to their dens. Their mating call is a low-pitched bumping noise.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Botis is the ideal servant. He's loyal, a good listener, and has no real opinions of his own. He just follows whatever his Arcana master, Samigina, says. He acts as his personal butler, always following close at his feet, ready and willing to do whatever is asked of him. This is only because, however, Samigina treats Botis so well. Botis works strictly on a system of mutual respect. If someone treats him well and respectfully, he will serve them kindly and devote himself to them. If someone treats him poorly or rudely, they will not receive that same kindness. Botis' retaliation ranges greatly. For minor offenses, he will simply act passive aggressively towards those he distrusts. However, if he is truly repulsed or offended by someone, he will go feral and attack them, even attempt to bite limbs off it they try to come too close. Only Samigina's gentle hand can sooth Botis whenever he flies into a feral rage. Though there usually isn't much left of his victim when he gets to him.
