Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

This affectionate cheese was having a nice relaxing day, hanging out with his cheese dragon friends, when all of a sudden a most rancid smell filled the air! Although he didn't know it, his innocuous comment that "someone cut the cheese" was to quickly escalate into accusations of cheese dragon murder... which might be a testimony to his friend Bob's stupidity rather than a fault on his part.
