Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its markings give off an otherworldly light.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Sandy Dune Starlit Skies is a beautiful, active hatchling who froze himself in order to remain forever free. Because he does not need to ever mate, he has less reason to come out of incorporeal form. He is scared to, because he has heard the tales of Celestial Dragons who become corporeal, and their grim, painful deaths outside of their protective magic. Although he still has to eat, and is not forever invulnerable, he is still satisfied with his choice, even if he cannot experience everything life has to offer because of his decision.
