Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Distant and aloof, Mirror rejects the ideas of supremacy promoted by her brother Lightspeed. She sees them as trivial arrogance. In her mind, she has much bigger things to worry about. Every night, she suffers from weird, vivid dreams that seem so intense that she worries they may be real in some way—perhaps prophetic, despite their strange, symbolic nature. Mirror is preoccupied with this notion, and spends a lot of time with the Coven of Reds and other mystically oriented local dragons, trying to understand and control her distressing dreams. She has gone so far as to consider making a new den in the same area as the Cassares dwell, so that at night, she could be within their magic neutralizing aura. She worries about how else the loss of magic might affect her, though, so hasn't tried it yet. Mirror has no patience for any kind of politics or attempts to put her in a leadership position, and will openly laugh in Lightspeed's face when he gets too pushy on the subject.
