Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Forever Midnight is a comforting dragon, but is often misunderstood. Though her egg seemed identical from all the rest, she was hatched pure black, causing concern among the other black dragons. For that misfortune, she was rejected by the other hatchlings. Midnight never asked for anything she didn't need, though when she did need something, it was most likely snatched away by another hatchling such as Missile in Tow. Sukari, the human who raised her, often tried to comfort and protect her, but found it difficult with the many other dragons who opposed her efforts. Midnight appreciated Sukari's kindness, and was always a loyal companion, but never considered herself as a pet. As she grew, Midnight became a solitary dragon, always longing for another pure black dragon to share her loneliness. She can be found alone, in dark crevices high in the cave. To this day, she is the proud mother of three black dragons with the same coloration of her own.
