Mistlet Pygmies thrive in humid environments and are most content when frolicking in the rain or fog. The cheerful demeanor they exhibit provides a remarkable contrast to their shadowy appearance, bringing joy in otherwise gloomy environments. Mistlets are an especially beautiful sight in long summer evenings, as their streak of vibrant scales catch the fading sunlight. They spend a great deal of their time foraging for edible roots and insects, and sometimes enjoy treats in the form of small fish or frogs.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

Many had thought Dark was going to be a moody dragon when he hatched. The young dragon was often seen sulking and spending many hours by himself a few days after he hatched. It took the help of Asundaria to discover that he was only shy and didn't know how to approach the other dragons. As he grew older and gained his wings, he began to socialize more as he felt more at home. More hatchlings around his size had come to join them, including Magic and and Zippy; each Pigmy given the respectful title of "Smol Bean" given their size when compared to the other dragons. Despite how small he really was, Dark slowly grew more accustomed to being around the much larger dragons. Soon he was flitting around the others, inquiring on what they were doing and if they needed any help. A few found him to become somewhat of a nuisance, but all he wanted to do was help the others and make them happy. Even with his dark colors, he is still considered the ray of sunshine by the other dragons.
