Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Awesome Darkness was found in  smoking ruins, rescued from poachers who destroyed a town dedicated to dragon raising, he later hatched to show he was very special. Ample magic skills proved him quite helpful to his master, using his magic to conjure  up fire for the nest, to keep it warm, or to freeze live small prey for the younger hatchlings, before feeding for himself.  During the day, he usually sleeps in a high off cave near the nest in which he was raised,or if awake will be seen watching out over his master and her new adoptees. During the night he hunts all things in the forest outside the caves, including humans with unknown scents. usually he tries to scare them away, but if provoked will attack. His favorite food are the Mooses he finds just before dawn. Awesome Darkness is also known to be quite funny, he's been seen to impersonate humans growling and walking (or flying) around with a hat or scarf growling in short tones, the entire cave erupts in growls and fits of laughter.
