Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
No one knows for sure how Valerika came to be, and reports of caring for her while young differ wildly from one another. A clan of royal dragons from High Caverns claim that her egg was left to them on a dark night of Samhein, and that they raised her as part of their family. Other dragons report that they took in her egg after they saw it was abandoned outside a cave on a night close to the Yule Solstice- a year after the royal clan claims they received her egg. Sadly neither group has any confirmation from Valerika herself, as all traces of her vanished a few days after becoming a fully fledged adult. Where she is now, no one can say. However, many have commented on crossing paths with her, spanning many different eras. While this is not uncommon for the eternally-lived members of the undead, her appearances and disappearances have always come across as... unnatural.
