Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Unlike the other dragons who vie for her title, Mirror has never raised her claws or wings or tools against another living creature. Mirror is, however, the scariest in Kad's clan.

She wanders daily through the clan cave. By some process only her mind can fathom, she selects a dragon (or even the clan human) and begins following it, whispering to her victim. Her voice is calm even when she tells her chosen victim its darkest wishes, its seething disappointments, its invisible enemies, its personal weaknesses. No one is certain how she knows all these things, but the secrets of the unconscious mind are usually unconscious to protect their keeper—and Mirror is thus very, very dangerous.

The clan's more traditionally violent members have tried to kill her to save themselves. She disappears for a while, however, then returns to haunt them.

No one can hide from themselves forever, and Mirror thinks she only makes that period of denial shorter. The self-inflicted wounds were coming anyway.
