Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

An athlete through and through, Sternfling has a competitive streak that just don't quit. Long bored with racing with those of his own clan, he's often caught in the wild or in other clans, snapping and harassing those of his own species into a race, for he refuses to rescue any other species now. In an attempt to burn his energy, his caretaker uses him in the long ride from their own cave to the main wild one where they go pick up abandoned eggs. This often tries his patience though, as there are many of his kind flying the skies in that area that he itches to race.

Often his caretaker warns him "Cockiness is the downfall of many great dragons" And often he replies "One is only cocky if they are not the best."
