Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Almasa used to be an ordinary gold dragon, content on the fact that he would grow into a proud warrior of Clawclan. However, when in the egg, he contracted a strange disease that would have been fatal had he not been so close to hatching. Almasa held on, however, and by some miracle he was able to survive and hatch into the clan. His appearance had drastically changed, however. His scales were now bleach-white, his eyes a piercing red color. The disease had also whacked up his protective secretion as well, making it slightly weaker than a normal albino's. This leads to Almasa getting sunburns quite easily.
It is rather ironic that his name has almost the exact meaning of "diamond" in Arabic. Almasa's anything but perfect, scaring potential members away with his loud screeches and unsettling them with his scarlet gaze. In fact, a few of the dumber dragons around have even mistaken him for a vampire dragon on occasion. But Almasa can't fix this, so he just lives with it.
