Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very light and enjoys bouncing all around.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Badoo thinks he is all that. When he bounces around, he makes sure he does not mess up his frill. He is rather smart, at night he climbs to the top of the cave, (which is rather high up) inflates with air, and lets gravity become his alarm clock. He slowly floats down and the cold touch of the cave floor wakes him up at dawn; often accompanied by a yelp. Even this can backfire. Falling on black dragon back spikes can hurt, badly.
