Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

After years of training Hirron finally got his wish and was recognised as a capable warrior. He wanted nothing more than to be able to join the other warrior dragons on the battlefield and defend his clan against their enemies.

Instead he was given the job of escorting Soul's Whisper whenever she left the territory.

Hirron knows this task is a great honour, but there is not as much fighting as he would like. Soul's Whisper is a much loved and widely popular dragon and there are actually few who would wish her harm, meaning Hirron's role as her guardian is little more than a 'just in case' kind of idea.
