Spotted Greenwings are relatively small nocturnal dragons. Easily recognizable by the fleshy appendages growing off of their head and rump, they are most commonly seen in forests at night, leaping and soaring from tree to tree. While generally social, spotted greenwings are very quiet and rarely make any sort of vocalization. Their bodies are unusually warm to the touch, though they are unable to breathe fire. Greenwings are voracious feeders and will consume nearly any living thing that they can fit in their mouths.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Four moons ago, a Spotted Greenwing dragon egg was found on the shore of Mirrelm (a tropical isle to the southwest of Galsreim), and raised by a young explorer that had been marooned there: Soot. Soon enough, the egg grew into a hatchling who Soot named Lumos. Under her care, the hatchling grew into the what he is now.

Once he had reached his full size, she began to train him to retrieve food for her from passing ships. However, one day, he brought back a dragon egg. Confused, Soot sent him back, but he returned two more times with eggs.

Confused, but still grateful for the help of Lumos, Soot raised the eggs into Gemini, Jadescale, and Favinem. With the help of those four dragons Soot began to construct a sanctuary for dragons on Mirrelm, with Lumos and Favinem as the leaders of them so she could study how the different species of dragons could coexist.

Lumos is very shy, but would do anything for his subjects. He often watches over the hatchlings while everyone else sleeps.
