White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Deckson is a wise old dragon, old enough to have outlived many of his own friends. In times past, he was a venerable leader, and he had held many of his clan's dragons (and those of the whole island) together through hard times. But now, after losing both his mate and best friend, and the disappearance of his foster daughter Evaheart, all in quick succession, he has started to become withdrawn and depressed. He's never ceased performing his duties the best he can, but inside he's broken, a shadow of the dragon he had once been. When not performing his leadership duties, he often prefers to rest or occasionally watch hatchlings play, a reminder of the briefness of youth.
