Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Known as the Chief Aedra to most of the men, mer, and other races that live across Nirn's many features, Akatosh is a wise Dragon tasked with guarding the flow of time from abnormalities and warps in time, known as 'Dragon Breaks' after the physical characteristics he possesses. Not known to the creatures of Nirn is that one of his abilities due to his powers over time is that he is able to flow into alternate realities, leading for more than one world to know of the Dragon that is Akatosh. One realm in particular holds many Dragons that bear resemblance to him, but don't have the same abilities as he. In this realm Akatosh is able to mingle with these festively colored Dragons, and in return they teach him what the spirit of celebration is all about.
