Kyanite Pygmies are a feisty breed, always full of energy. Playfully ebullient, these tiny and elusive dragons like to chase after one another, darting in and out of small alcoves and other such hiding places. They often dig small burrows underneath large trees and nibble on the roots for sustenance. They rely on the towering oaks’ formidable trunks and vast immensity to hide them from predators, something their small size aids in. Kyanites also secrete a weak toxin when threatened, which further protects them from intruders. However, this poison is not strong enough to affect larger creatures, humans included.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

User Description

Being as small as she is this young dragoness always felt a kind of sympathy for those even smaller than herself: rabbits, birds, and even bugs of all kinds. For all her hatchling years she did her best to protect the little critters from Stripes and Black Teas and other such monstrous insectivores.

That is until one day her mighty oak—her home—was felled and she didn't know what to do. A wise Terrae of the clan showed her the bugs that had killed her beloved protective housing and gently explained to her how the Stripes and their companions actually had a very important role to play in something they called 'natural equilibrium'. Kammerjaeger didn't quite understand all of it but since that day she hunts and kills every fly, larvae, or caterpillar she can get her claws on.
