Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zirral, once a stone dragon, had a happy life with his loving mate and baby boy. But poor Zirral was not to remain happy for long. A destructive war between the humans and the dragon tribe began and Zirral was forced to the front lines. Though he tried his hardest and fought very well, Zirral was killed within the first year. A passing wizard happened upon his body and decided to harvest some of Zirral's organs to sell at the market. The wizard carefully stripped the stone layer off Zirral's body and accidentally hit his heart, restarting it. Zirral was not amused and promptly squished the wizard. The newly awakened undead dragon walked all the way back to his family and friends, but they were terrified at his disgusting appearance and horrible rotting smell and chased him out. Zirral was heartbroken, his mate had rejected him and his son had cowered in fear. After many years in isolation, his sadness has turned to fury and Zirral waits for the day he can have his revenge on everyone.
