Flamingo Wyverns are so named for their resemblance to the tropical birds with whom they often share territory. Their most striking feature is the bony black crest over their faces and snouts, larger in males, aiding both in digging up food and protection when fighting for mates. Males are duller in color than females due to their habit of wandering from nest to nest and picking from less algae-rich feeding grounds.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mar'luxia is a stubborn wyvern who refuses to share his flock of females with any other male, save for Se'ro. His females follow him loyally, as none of them wish to breed, and they pick up new females regularly. Mar'luxia formed the flock with Ere'sanna, the eldest of their number, but nowadays, he is in charge while Ere'sanna relaxes. He doesn't care for fighting, however, leaving Se'ro to chase out any unwanted visitors.
