Pink Dragons are primarily herbivores and only eat meat during the mating season, when mates will exchange kills. When it is not breeding season, pink dragons spend most of their time incubating eggs and caring for their clan’s young. Due to their feminine color, it was traditionally thought that pink dragons were a strictly female breed, but this is not true.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Alluzinne is a Pink dragon, a breed that appeared to be mainly restricted to females until some of the new paler eggs hatched into males. When Alluzine's egg hatched, her family immediately decided the hatchling was a male. The tiny pink hatchling was tough, energetic and often got into scraps with other hatchlings and the smaller dragons. To add to which, her table manners caused even the members of her family with the strongest stomachs to turn green (or a deep mauve, deending on their coloring) and leave the dining cave. Fortunately, her owner decided to wait until the hatchling grew her wings before naming her, at which point, to everyone's astonishment, the hatchling turned out to be a girl. As an adult, Alluzine still gets into small tussles with other dragons, though her eating habits now only make her family look away instead of losing their apetites altogether.
