When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aramis is one of 4 eggs that were discovered by an elderly tinker. The clutch of eggs were mistakenly thought to be a group of gems. However once she touched them she knew not only what they were but they were her responsibility. She knew not what to do once they were grown so she raised them to maturity and to be the motley band of 'brothers' they are. She named all of them after characters in her favorite book. Unfortunately as she thought them all to be male Aramis and her sister are ill named, however as she was raised with love she does not mind. Her role in her 'family' is that of water crossing for her brothers Anthos and D'Artagnan who are unable to fly. She also provides her family with fish and adventure. She is known to be a prankster.
