Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This little hatchling lives with a group of white hatchlings just like him that inhabit a small cave that they've dubbed the "Fontastical Cave". But this little group is far from harmonious, and quite eccentric, too: its members all argue over something that they call "fonts", which are apparently different styles of the written language. L33tspeek is perhaps one of those hatchlings that don't seem to come from the cave itself. He speaks in a strange dialect that seems robotic, but when asked to write down his font, things get truly strange. For l33tspeek does not actually have a font himself; he borrows from another hatchling and proceeds to chop all the words up, substituting numbers for letters to create truly interesting text indeed. In fact, conspiracy theories are abundant among the Fontastical Cave concerning where l33tspeek comes from. The most popular theory is that he is from the future, which seems to make sense because he seems more ahead of his years than the others.
