Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rumors follow this dragon like smoke after fire, dark tales of curses and witchcraft, of black rituals performed in the dead of night. Most of these rumors are false.

But one must be wary, for some are true.

Abandoned at birth, this female scratched out a wretched life in the wilderness, hated and hassled by those who feared her for her looks or for her power or for her gnarled ancestry. As her powers grew, her tormentors went fearfully silent, but her hatred for them remained. And so it was that she came under the employ of a certain sorceress, taking up an occupation that would give her revenge on all the world around her.

For she is a memory manipulator. Using demonic magic, her natural strength enhanced by the eight demons she allows to share her body, she makes dragons forget all about their precious offspring, allowing the sorceress to sell or swap or murder their whelps as she pleases. It's a cruel art, but the black dragon enjoys it, allowing herself to smile at the irony.
