Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Gold Rainbow contracted a serious case of paranoia at a young age. After being left by Elegant Sparks, he found himself unable to trust anyone. Every dragon he came into contact with he suspected to be a fraud or one out to deceive him. Many deemed him "mad" or "mentally unstable", and most pitied him. It took him years to eventually trust another drake, and even now sometimes he doubts his new mate. Gold Rainbow can't trust his own children not to leave him, although they themselves could never muster the courage to do so. In truth, he is too paranoid to see the depth of his new family's love for him, and it deeply pains each of them. They stay with him in the hopes that he will eventually show some faith in them.
