Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...

Now there are even more vines. Perhaps something is happening?

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Grimdark Thorns of Oglogoth has always been a very dark dragon, even if she's supposed to be an innocent, naive, happy hatchling. She says that her thorns leak black blood and ink, even though when you look at them, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with them. She says that a being called Oglogoth, one of the demons Greensun Blackrose preaches about, has taken over her.

Her thorns, for sure, are sharper and infinitely more deadly than the ones of other hatchlings her age. The bracken wreathing her body seems harder, keener, with a mind of their own, than other dragons'. Even the adults.

Nobody can figure her out. They don't understand the stories of the Furthest Ring and Veil that she speaks of. Her obsession with Greenrose Blacksun seems almost sacrilegious, the way she talks about him.

It's a mystery, for sure. But she seems firmly convinced that her thorns are the Grimdark Thorns of Oglogoth, a being that leaks black ink and controls her mind.
