Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

In a mad rush, an was egg stolen, and then pushed aside--- its pure white shell yellowing, the golden stripes fading. The unborn dragon inside was neglected, and soon the jovial presence of so many young hatchlings stole the memory of that one slow-hatching Stripe egg.

Until a White apprentice discovered the dying egg and made it her personal quest hatch the egg. Many spells hardened its shell, and spells coaxed the poor forgotten hatchling out into the open. The White named the newly hatched Stripe Alirabeth, meaning "Found Bravery," but when the White's actions were discovered, Alirabeth was sent with the other hatchlings. She was rather frail from neglect, never as strong, her colors never as vibrant; and made fun of for her disability. Their cruelty sent her running on weak legs and half-grown wings, until she finally found a home. There she was nursed back to health, but she still remembers how it felt to be inferior, and always stays in the shadows to avoid unwanted attention.
