Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Melanthios Corinna, "black flower maiden", lives for two things: battle and the intoxicating scent of jasmine on a clear night. A warrior by breed, Melanthios' eyes glow brightly in the heat of battle. She is merciless towards other warriors, but does spare any innocent female or child; however, as a feminist she has a particular contempt for males that flares into hate during clashes. Melanthios loves her little patch of jasmine flowers in her cave, which has an ethereal glow when hit by the moonlight coming in from a hole in the top of the cave. She will use her flowers for many things, but they mostly serve a special purpose; after a midnight raid on an enemy clan, she leaves her most beautiful blossoms on the bodies of her victims. For this, she is known by her enemies as "Black Jasmine." Otherwise, Melanthios enjoys a lazy lifestyle gorging on various fruits and giving hatchlings a good scare.
