Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Niva the Green dragon lives deep in the caves that her clan makes their home. She rarely comes out, but she will occasionally go hunting. Niva spends most of her time underground enlarging the caves so that the clan can swell in numbers. When the Egg Watch is short, she will step up and guard the eggs. Niva is one of the Hatchling Guardians, one of the females who guard the hatchlings and entertain them. Before Tangleweed took root, Niva was the main defender of the cave. She would collapse the entrance, then force the rocks back up afterwards. Niva is not very friendly with the dragons she grew up with and holds little respect for the Lords. Niva only shows affection for the hatchlings she raises and adores them until they are well on into adulthood and clan life.
