Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Vokur has always loathed bright colors and gaudy patterns, which is very unfortunate for a dragon of his breed. His opalescent skin irritated him with its flashiness, and for years he would cover himself in mud to ease the feeling of being a showoff, a feeling only exacerbated by being the only Striped dragon in his clan. Eventually, however, he met Askai, a Storm dragon, and the two quickly became lifemates. She uses her powers over fog to obscure his brightness, and the two of them have produced several clutches together (luckily for him, all of sensible coloration).
