Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Qauear is a very young guardian dragon, though she is still quite fierce. With her enjoyable childhood with her reserved mother and wild father, it's quite strange as to why she has turned out this way. Perhaps it was in her meeting of Fieriar, the beautiful Magi dragon, that has changed her ways.

In meeting Fieriar, the Magi dragon attempted to impress Qauear with his superior magic skills in order to ask for a mate. Qauear seemed to be astounded that such power existed, and the pair became fast mates. It is unknown if they shall have more children together, however, they do have a stunning young Magi hatchling from between them, who has yet to be named.

It is in Qauear's belief that her mate Fieriar, though strong in magic, cannot protect himself alone, and she occasionally attempts to wrap herself around him in order to keep him protected from the other dragons of her cave. Qauear is a loyal mate, and she does not wish to allow any harm to Fieriar, no matter how unlikely it may be.
