Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

In the harsh terrain of the high mountains, this Clever Prince is a rare gem. His mountain range is well traveled by humans. Because of this some will often get lost or become injured. That's when this dragon appears. Most humans are terrified at first, thinking he means to attack. However with a gentle growl the dragon bows his head and shows that he is friendly. Once the human has been calmed and he gets an idea of the human's injuries he'll either coax them onto his back or gather them up in his arms if they're too weak to hang on and flies them off the mountain and into the village at its base. The people there tell countless stories of the dragon's kind and caring deeds and many who have been saved by him who used to fear dragons now cast them in an entirely new light.
