Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Like his older sister, Tytlor, and all other dragons of his breed, Elcetro admires his scales and enjoys gazing at them when no one is looking. Unlike his sister, however, Elcetro's shy nature prevents him from admiring his beautiful scales while being in the presence of others. Elcetro grew up under the care of Flight, like so many other dragons living in the Mountains of Elgar. As a hatchling, he enjoyed traveling to the tallest Mountains of Elgar with Flight to see the only other human living in the mountains, Flight's friend Ember Nuria. During those trips, Elcetro would often sit near Flight and watch the dragons raised by Ember (as none of them were really his age). His favorite dragon to watch was the Christmas dragon, Jasper Nuria, whose scales shone with a luster brighter than Elcetro's himself. Even now, as he lives in the forest called Erdi, Elcetro admires Jasper and enjoys his company.
