Ridgewing Dragons live just below the snow level on the upper slopes of mountains. They are a friendly, playful breed and enjoy dancing in wind currents near their homes or plummeting down into valleys from great heights. Their wings, by far their most striking feature, grow in fin-like ridges along their backs. While their bodies lack markings to blend better with their surroundings, a ridgewing’s wings have bright markings in the colors of the flowers that grow in their mountain habitat. Occasionally different-colored individuals can be found, but they are rare because their striking coloring offers little protection.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Violet is known to be a peaceful and friendly dragon, but few know of her past sufferings that have made her the loyal companion she is today. When Violet was a hatchling, she was put in the abandoned pile in the cave more times than most dragons. Every time she thought she had found a home, she would end up back in the pile. Every family she had rejected her, and she couldn't figure out why. One day, her current owner found her in the pile and instantly fell in love with her. She was living a beautiful life, but one day all of that shattered. That was the day that she learned she had cancer in her wings. All the previous owners had put her back in the pile in the early stages of her cancer, but she never got the care she needed and it just kept progressing. Eventually, she was cured when she had her wings cut off. Since then they have grown back and recovered well. Because she has been near death before, Violet is now a very happy and healthy dragon, with a mate and four children.
