Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very light and enjoys bouncing all around.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Katashi is a small young dragon frozen because he was close to dieing, and to be saved he was frozen in this stage of his life. He is still very young and so has an extremely high-pitched squeal when he is frightened, but of course he can communicate through telepathy. For being as small and young as he he is Katashi is very eager to meet new people and creatures and try to communicate with them.

Katashi isn't much different from other balloon dragons at all. He uses gas bladders to float to the tops of trees, where food is more abundant. He can shift his weight from his back to his front, allowing him to reach leaves and fruit alike. But Katashi being as young as he is is more prone to bursting because he is not fully developed; but is learning as he goes, how to be careful and not to harm himself. And just like his elders he is slow in moving an tries his hardest to be like everyone else even though he is a frozen hatchling.
