Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Black Will of Death is a fearsome warrior, and has a bloody history.

She was abandoned as an egg, and hatched in the midst of a civil war. She was taken captive, and was forced to preform magic beyond her comprehension to annihilate the opposing side. Her spirit was broken, from seeing sights that were too disturbing for her young age. She managed to escape her captors, and as a full grown dragon, she released the rage on those who had molded her into what she had become. They, and all their friends and relatives, were never seen again. The Black Will of Death's hunger was satisfied for a long time.
