Khusa dragons thrive in dry, desolate, and rocky areas. Though they can fly, Khusa enjoy honing their climbing skills on foot. Shortly after they hatch, parents are already teaching their young how to pick their way across cliff faces, escarpments, and thin ridges. The young are well cared for by their parents, but other Khusa in the area also look out for the young—despite not forming close-knit groups, these dragons form loose alliances with their closest neighbors. If a threat is spotted, they will attack from above and drive it to the ground where Khusa have an advantage.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sambah is a talkative, mischievous, and somewhat hyperactive dragon with a love for climbing. As a hatchling, she was a serious troublemaker; always getting to places she shouldn't be able to without wings, and getting into things she shouldn't be getting into. This behavior continued into adulthood, and even though she rarely uses her wings, Sambah can easily get into places she shouldn't be, (such as Hanala's den) using entrances no other dragon ever thought to use. Many of the dragons in the lair find Sambah to be more of a nuisance than anything, though her best bud Kochuko can never get enough of her. The two can often be found in friendly competition climbing cliffs and mountains, while also talking about their ridiculous stories and spouting other random nonsense at each other to pass the time.
