When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Stormblade is a bit roguish, but it serves his style of life just fine. As a sort of admiral, he defends the water borders from other dragons and occasionally picks up a few hard to reach eggs. Philosophical yet hot-headed, he can be discussing the meaning of life one minute and ready to attack the next. Smaller than most other Water dragons, his slimmer build makes it easier for him to slip in and out of rivers. A good friend to Silver, the chieftain, he provides her with a welcomed boost of confidence and advice, though usually with the price of a good riddle or joke. Respected and somewhat feared, Stormblade is often the one one to go to for life advice, as all the time he spends alone gives him plenty of time to think it over.
