Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sapphirella ChillTouch (after the gemstone: Sapphire) joined the clan cave as the 180th member, the first female of her kind among the Mystal Clan. She is a rather aggressive and protective dragon who spends the majority of her time hunting for herself and the rest of the clan dragons. Her frosty breath freezes her prey solid in their tracks, enabling others to transport the catch back to the waiting masses within the clan cave. Although she seems cold and distant, rumors abound that this is not the case at all, that it is merely a defensive measure she portrays to safeguard those around her. When still but a hatchling, she nuzzled gingerly up against The Clan Mother, and through no fault or intentional wrong doing, the simple truth of her form transferred such a chilling touch that it took the clan elders several hours to undo the frigid damage she caused. Sadly, the fear and horror of the event has taken its toll, and so, she remains hesitant to allow any living soul to touch her.
