Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Once many, many year ago there lived a dragon. He was not particularly large, in fact, he was considered to be puny to most dragonfolk. But, he was stout of heart. Unfortunately, being stout of heart does not guarantee that you will not have terribly ill fated moments every now and then.<br/>One day our poor hero let off a jet of flame too close to a cottage window, and in turn burned a whole plate of good cookies. The children in the house were amused by his klutziness, and he has been known as BURN THEM COOKIES ever since.
