And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling has a rather childish sense of humor, even for a hatchling. It's not even the fault of the hatchling; it just cannot help starting to giggle, taking harmless remarks in a suggestive way. Lately, maybe due to the influence of the father, the hatchling developed a strange fascination in puns regarding the lower back region. The odd behavior has isolated the hatchling amongst the other dragons. No sane dragon is interested in having a conversation with a nutcase who breaks out laughing uncontrollably over such ridiculous things.

The hatchling's career goal is to become the first Rear Admiral in the Coastal Defense Brigade not to be recruited from the ranks of sea-based dragons. The CDB has rejected the application, displaying unsuspected wit stating that the decision was "not to be reversed—bottom line". Although the matter should have had an end with that, the hatchling swore to not be left behind. It currently is looking for a backdoor to fulfill its dream.
