Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to bear some semblance to a horse.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Beauty is absolutely convinced that he is the most beautiful creature that has ever lived. This might or might not have to do with a group of local human girls telling him that every single day. They fuss over him, groom his mane, and polish his scales all in the hope that he will one day allow them to ride on his back. The human children simply can't grasp the concept that he is a Dragon not some kind of purple pony.
