Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Auroric Harmony has the task of glamoring The Empire by day. She is a very powerful dragon and her magic is very strong. Despite her job of hiding The Empire, she likes to be seen by all. She is slightly vain about her looks and likes to show off, but does not brag. She is often flying about The Empire and soaking up sun. She seems like a very relaxed dragon, though in truth she is constantly keeping up the barrier that obscures her home. She is friendly when spoken to, but does not often seek out the company of other dragons.
