Avatars of Change are unpredictable, exuberant dragons whose unique connection to magic has saturated their entire bodies. It is said that possessing one of their iridescent scales can change one’s fate, and many have sought the favor of these dragons hoping to receive a scale as a gift.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Daughter of Amun-Ra of the Papyrus Groves and SilverIceicle, Hectate might as well be the golden girl of Avatars of Change. Having the same nomenclature of her father, named after old gods of forgotten worlds, her namesake was a goddess of crossroads, of change and mystery. As a hatchling she had a tendency to wander the nest and eventually the system of caverns that her parents humanlike caretaker kept as a home for them. Growing up she spent time with everybody in the cave, from the quiet and reserved Vampire Dragons to the hot-tempered Hell Fire Wyverns and even the few Ocher Drakes that lurked there. Even with the variation and interaction of these dragons when she grew her wings and matured to adulthood Hectate yearned for more, just like the powers she had she wanted change and adventure. Currently she still lives in the Home Cavern where all of the other dragons live strewn about, but from time to time she leaves for months on end, wanting to see and experience something new.
