Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

With scales the color of summer leaves, Fargnien became fascinated with foliage. He found he liked to grow and shape trees. Tending them carefully, he planted them in pleasing arrangements and pruned them for a variety of purposes.

Some he shaped and wove into the shady cave where he lives; others he cultivated for sweet fruit; some he shaped into arrows and symbols to direct dragons looking down on them where to find such things as fish-filled lakes, valleys with herds of wild prey, and settlements of bipedal creatures. Quite a few were simply for his comfort—a sleeping platform, a rainwater goblet, a network of crossed branches for catching fish; others were for simply for fun—a leafy sculpture of a hatchling launching into first flight, a deer leaping, even an erupting volcano.

When not tending to his trees, Fargnien likes to catch the sun on his wings, either while in flight or while lolling by his favorite pond.
