Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cole Frostflame breathes a howling wind of ice and snow. He has scales of sparkling blue, and due to his sweetling heritage, Cole has a beautiful singing voice. Cole himself is a gentle and thoughtful dragon; he likes to make ice sculptures in his free time or to preform for his clan. He can easily worry too much about his loved ones. Everything the ice dragons in the clan touch becomes frozen immediately. Due to this, the ice dragons only live in the mountainous territory of their clan. The mountains have vicious blizzards due to this. Cole tried to combat this by singlehandedly creating a mountain completely made of ice, thinking that perhaps if all the ice dragons lived there, the mountains could return to their grassy self. However, Cole and the rest of his family got too lonely and quickly returned to the mountains so they could be with their clan. They periodically return to the ice mountain so that the mountains of their clan could occasionally experience a short summer.
