Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys running through a nearby pumpkin patch.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

As soon as Lumina Pumpkin hatched she was getting stares from the rest of the pumpkin dragons. The poor little pumpkin had hatched albino! This caused some awkward questions to be raised about the little lady's parentage, and many giggled about the supposed relationship between Lumina's mother and the mailman, the albino dragon. Lumina doesn't let the teasing bother her though, and for all she cares, her coloring just makes it easier for her glo-in-the-dark body paint to show up.
