Royal Crimson Dragons are so named due to their massive size and confident, regal bearing. Most of the time they are laid back, ignoring non-prey creatures smaller than themselves, although they will occasionally take fresh kills from other dragons as a reminder of their place in the social order. Although there are few other dragons large enough to pose a threat to Royal Crimsons, they have little tolerance for potential rivals and will fiercely defend their territory from such intruders.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Often, dragon elders are known as grumpy and reclusive beings who complain about the younger generations and only cooperate when almost literally beaten with a stick. Lord of Wisdom is only half like that. He is a wise and jolly being, never caught without a soft smile or an insightful comment and he is most often found lounging just at the side of the gathering place watching dragons go about their business. Like all Royal Crimsons, Lord is proud of his power and his mind but doesn't try to subjugate others. The rest of the dragon clan greatly respects him and it is rare to find someone with a bad word to say about him. As one of the clan's elder dragons, Lord is cared for like a youngster and this allows him to laze and observe in the sun like he wants to. However, when the clan's land is threatened by another great dragon clan who wishes to add to their borders, Lord is always a towering beast of crimson who stands above and beside his clan, ready to fight to his last breath.
