Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It sleeps a lot, but when it’s awake, it’s quite a handful.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Toodly is the younger brother of the genderless hatchling Doodly, who is also frozen. Doodly never had the chance to gender, even though he sees himself as a male, and he appears to be much smaller than brother Toodly. But Toodly actually looks up to Doodly and tries to be just like him. Toodly follows his brother and his father, the mighty Fuzzums, throughout the cave and observes the daily happenings. He likes to observe cave life and take note of it, like a little dragon journalist. He and his brother Doodly are the best of friends, and Toodly is grateful to have his brother to proofread his writings. In return, he offers his warmth for his furless sibling. The two are often seen side-by-side on particularly chilly nights.
