Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling is lovable, but a bit awkward. It sneaks through the brushwood that skirts largely frequented roads and searches for unsuspecting passers-by to battle them in a staring contest. Whenever it spots someone, it runs out of its cover and fixates their eyes with fierce resolution. Often, its opponents, humans and dragons alike, are too surprised to realize what is going on and blink out of surprise. Yet, after the first moment of shock, many contestants take the challenge and stare back. The hatchling has an amazing record; until now, there has been only one individual that could claim to have beaten her—a zombie dragon without eyelids.

Whenever the hatchling has stared down an opponent, it celebrates the victory by cheerful dancing. It executes the dance routine with an astounding elegance, grace and wealth of ideas that leave the opponents in awe. Since its dancing style reminds people of a well-known human dance star, the nickname "Ferret A Stare" stuck.
