Shadow Walkers are a strange breed that possess the ability to slip between the planes of reality, becoming immaterial. This allows them to hide in the shadows, either hunting from the concealment of near invisibility or evading enemies. Though they become corporeal to mate or to eat, they spend most of the rest of their lives walking in the shadows. Shadow Walkers are wary creatures, though on dark autumn evenings when the leaves fall to swirl in the chill, rain damp air, they may be seen drifting out from the shadows.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Scattius is a rather strange dragon. He is true to the Shadow Walker breed, preferring to stick to the shadows most of the time. But he has also developed some Black Marrow and Cavern Lurker tendencies, having been raised with the two other Halloween breeds instead of being raised with solely other Shadow Walkers. His mind is a bit twisted, seemingly infused with the Black Marrow's hunger for marrow and vicious scavenging slant, and also the Cavern Lurker's strange hunting tactics. He is often examined by the Magis of the cave, who are confused by his different temperament. But if one's smart enough they'd stay away.

Along with his dissimilar ways, Scattius's mind is quite twisted. He enjoys being the odd one out, making it a point when he cracks open a prey's skull and gobbles all of their insides in front of everyone. His unpredictable nature makes him feared within the cave, a fact he truly loves. Some call him insane, others deranged. Just remember, no one can escape the shadows.
